Heather Murray-Evans

Managing Director/Holistic Massage Therapist

Heather is a trauma-informed massage therapist and specialises in treatments for relaxation and stress relief.

Heather developed her treatments out of her desire to provide therapies to overcome both the general strains of life, as well as supporting recovery from the more traumatic events life can throw at us.

Every therapy Heather does holds a special place in her heart as she has, herself, experienced the profound healing, relaxing effects each one has. Over the years she has based her career upon being the therapist she needed when she was in need of healing. All the knowledge and experience she gained, she now passes onto others.

Heather specialises in relaxing, holistic treatments using her range of skills in:

  • Deep tissue massage,

  • Classic Swedish massage,

  • Facial treatments,

  • Reflexology,

  • Reiki

  • Hypnotherapy

Heather is deeply passionate about helping her clients relax and recover from the strains of daily life. She works closely with her clients, taking physical and emotional needs into consideration and offering support when needed in a safe, nurturing environment.

Heather's foundation in massage and holistic therapies began with training and research in India and Thailand over 15 years ago. She trained as a hypnotherapist in 2018 and became a reiki practitioner soon after. In 2020 she completed a Level 2 Body Massage qualification from the Beauty Guild and started her career as a massage therapist. She began working in luxury health spas, which provided extensive experience and was the perfect environment to develop her skills further. Heather has also completed additional qualifications in facial treatments and reflexology and is also qualified in Level 4 sports massage.

Charlie Evans

sports massage therapist/mountain bike coach

Charlie is a VTCT qualified sport massage therapist with a strong background in mountain bike performance and coaching. Charlie trained as a massage therapist during his studies of sport science and complemented this with an MSc in Sport Injury.

Having previously worked for 5 years at UCI World Cycling Centre in Switzerland as lead MTB coach, he has coached riders internationally and gained World Cup podium successes with riders he's supported. The holistic wellbeing of the athlete has always been central to his philosophy, success and effectiveness. In joining Hand and Heart Massage and Holistic Therapies, Charlie has the opportunity to extend this philosophy of complete athlete wellbeing to supporting clients not only with their physical recovery from training, but also helping them gain mental focus and clarity on training, benefitting during treatments with his extensive coaching experience.

Charlie specialises in:

  • Deep Tissue Massage

  • Sports and Recovery Massage

As a coach, Charlie understands that recovery is a key, but often overlooked, misunderstood and neglected aspect in many people's schedules. Balancing the needs of training with the demands of daily life, the training may get done, but often, it is the recovery that is squeezed - the good intentions of a proper cool down, stretching, doing some yoga or a stint on the foam roller after each session that are skipped. Charlie’s goal is to help you maintain your workload and functionality without developing any overuse injuries, thus keeping your training consistent. Should any niggles arise, he can help you to consider how training could be adapted until you are back in great working order.
